It's a perfectly decent KVM switch. That's how long the included cables are, which essentially meant I got the switch for 10 bucks, but need new cables.
Unless both the pcs you want to control with this device are on top of your desk, or right next to each other on the floor, with your monitor to one side of the desk to be closer to the PCs, expect the cables to be completely taught or not reach at all. With my current desk setup (both PCs on the floor on either side of a desk only wide enough to put my legs underneath), it's impossible to locate the kvm switch so that the cables can reach both PCs and have the switch accessible (ie not dangling behind the desk).
I got this product for [.]. I've work with many different kvm switches in different environments (2,4, 16 port kvm switches) and I've never seen any kvm cables only 18 inches long.
Or expect to get new cables. and I'd say it's worth that.
The one problem is the cables are abnormally short.
It works very well and seems well put togetherSo all in all a good buy for the money. Comes with all the cable necessary and the cables are really great quality I would prefer a bigger switch with more ports and USB, but you get what you pay for.
Love the hot key function too. Perfect solution to multiple systems, forget buying seperate k/b, mouse and monitor. GET THIS. Works like a charm, multiple systems. THIS IS THE ULTIMATE FIX. Simple to set up and a breeze to use.
I've been too lazy to see if there's a way to re-configure the switch to defeat that, and the price was right, so I can't complain. Does exactly what it's supposed to do, allowing quick switching between two PC's sharing the same keyboard, video, and mouse. The only reason it loses a star is because it managed to add unwanted functionality to the mouse's scroll wheel (I can't use it to scroll web pages up and down in a browser anymore because it also moves to the next/previous page), but that's a minor inconvenience.
Small, compact, no frills.does what it needs to.buttons are a little stiff to push, but overall a good buy.
